After a long day in the car, I have arrived and settled in to Fallen Leaf campground on the south side of Lake Tahoe. It was over 100 on the car thermometer for most of the 7+ hours through Nevada. I'm very thankful for a reliable car thus far. Lake Tahoe is a little more touristy than I was hoping for, but I did take a nice quiet walk tonight through a forest filled with giant redwoods and cedars.
This would be a fun place to stay for a week with all the hiking options, and restaurants and shops around. Also, if anyone finds an extra 3 - 4 million dollars laying around, I have some real estate ideas for you! There are some incredible houses on this lake.
This last panorama is actually of fallen leaf lake, which I hiked around this evening. It looks a lot like a very miniature Tahoe.
I'm excited for a big hike in the morning, and kayaking in the afternoon.
