I had a moment of gratitude, and was very thankful for my job, when I saw man dangling from a helicopter in a 40 mile-per-hour wind trying to fix a powerline along I-90. The wind was whipping all day. This made the hike in the Black Hills a noisy and energizing one.
I was overcome with a deep sense of "time" today. I hear mystics and spiritual leaders say the time is just a man-made thing, but when I look at the Badlands and see the weathered rocks from from wind, rain...and time, I can't help but acknowledge that time is real, and it induces change. Even the hard limestone in the black hills becomes weathered and changed by the elements and time.
Time can destroy, and time can heal. The one thing that nature is teaching me, is that with time, comes change.
